THE GREAT VERMA

I'm an upcoming Mixing/Mastering Engineer in the music industry. I'm excited to learn everything there is from beat making to Composition.

 My name’s Sahil Verma,19 years of age. Born and raised in Canada from Toronto, what most people call it nowadays “The 6ix”. My favorite genres are Rnb, HipHop, Rock, and Trap.I'm a 5 year experienced music composer and mixer. I gained all my knowledge from taking online classes and doing the work hands-on.

The year 2017 was my warm-up year. That year I purchased myself a recording program “Logic Pro X”.I was interested in making beats and songs, so I followed that direction. I would be working part-time in an industrial warehouse earning minimum wage. I was saving up to build a home studio In my room. When I got the dough I purchased some nice pair of studio speakers, monitor, keyboard, mouse, boom arm, and a Blue Yeti microphone. I had a crappy affordable home studio setup built in my room by the end of the year, but it got the job done. My goal was to put out music and record daily and learn my DAW (Music software).

There was something big in my life that was interfering in the way of my music hobby. It was School, that was stopping me from progressing. My consistency and time management for music was so poor due to that.

I was in Highschool that year of 2017. I was busy with school. therefore I had little time to create full-length songs and it was very difficult to attend full sessions of recording with my buddies. I would be experimenting with new sounds, plugins, and learning how to mix a song with the right steps learned especially from my mentor. I skipped 3 months of school to work on projects at home. I had it all planned out and I knew how to use my spare time while I was at home. To start it off, my main goal was to build a good vocabulary and lyrical structure to create a professional song. For that, I got the idea to start reading a dictionary to learn new words, its something Eminem used to do and it really inspired me to do the same. Since I was really good in my English class, my vocabulary was already up there. Reading a dictionary did really improve it 10 times more. In the end, it was all worth it.

During the year 2018, I recorded and wrote all through in my room, all day long. 2 months later I went back to school, and I loved it. I was glad to have some time off so I was able to work on music. The next step in my life was to collaborate and build a fanbase. I tried to work solo, I tried to get in contact with a couple of beatmakers in the industry, not too big but some available in my area/town, but was never the easiest thing. I didn't need all that attention and friends. It's a big distraction in my life. I went low key and undercover from everybody to do what I'm best at!

 2018 came around, I started to take music more seriously. I had a lot of lyrics written down for individual songs I prepared in my notebook. I reached out to some people like “Thaibeats”, “Dannyebtracks” and “kyu_instrumentals”.I worked with them and created instrumentals and beats, they brought me up in the game.

Near the end of 2018, I gradually gained a lot of knowledge by those online classes I took in the beginning. I had built a small friend circle that I considered as my music buddies, they would come over to my home, help me record and I would feature them on my songs, a lot of these experienced people helped me. I met most of these kind people along the way of traveling in Toronto and visiting Public studios.2018 Summer, I saved enough cash to renovate my garage and build a new home studio. By the time 2019 came along, I heard of this Music academy called “TREBAS INSTITUTE” and from there on, I knew my journey was just getting started.
